この度、バンビナートギャラリーでは初となる物故作家による個展「伊藤久三郎展」を開催いたします。
伊藤は、1906年京都市生まれ。1928年京都市立絵画専門学校本科＜日本画＞（現京都市立芸術大学）を卒業、その年に単身東京に転居しました。1929年から「1930年協会展」「二科展」に出品。1938年には二科会のなかでも先鋭的な絵画を探求する九室会が結成され、メンバーとなりました。
1944年京都に転居。以降、行動展（行動美術協会）への出品を中心に、「抽象と幻想」（1953、東京国立近代美術館）、「第4回サンパウロビエンナーレ」（1957）、「前衛絵画の先駆者たち」（1965、京都国立近代美術館）、「回顧展伊藤久三郎・小牧源太郎」（1971、京都市美術館）などに出品するなどしました。1977年死去。以降も「伊藤久三郎—透明なる叙情と幻想」（1995、O美術館）、「藤田嗣治と二科・九室会の画家たち」（2006、京都国立近代美術館）、「没後40年—伊藤久三郎展幻想と詩情」（2017、横須賀美術館）、「伊藤久三郎展」（2020、京都文化博物館）など継続的に紹介されています。
弊ギャラリーでは、2010年の開廊展で物故作家の中村正義を含むグループショウを開催しましたが、以降は若いアーティストを中心に企画展を重ねてまいりました。
しかしながら近年では、若いアーティストの発表の場や販売チャネルは多様化し、若いアーティストを紹介するギャラリーは増加し、さまざまな企業が運営するスペースやサービス、オルタナティブやアーティストランのスペースなどが能動的に機能し、役割を拡大しています。
そうした流れにおいて、小規模企画ギャラリーに求められる役割は変わってきており、今後は機会が減少しつつある近代日本の物故作家の紹介に継続的に取り組むことで、現代との繋がりや現代の有り方を考えたいと思います。
その第一弾として、伊藤久三郎を紹介します。
近代日本の前衛絵画の黎明期に活躍した画家の一人です。
本展では、最初期の1930年制作の油彩画1点をはじめ、60年代70年代制作の油彩画を中心に10点を展観いたします。

Bambinart Gallery is pleased to present “Kyuzaburo Ito,” the first solo exhibition by a deceased artist.
Ito was born in Kyoto in 1906, graduated from Kyoto Municipal College of Painting (now Kyoto City University of Arts) in 1928, and moved to Tokyo that year, He became a member.
In 1944, he moved to Kyoto. Since then, he mainly exhibited his works at the “Action Exhibition (Kodo Bijutsu Kyokai)” (1953, The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo), “The 4th Sao Paulo Biennial” (1957), “Pioneers of Avant-garde Painting” (1965, The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto), “Retrospective Exhibition Kyuzaburo Ito and Gentaro Komaki” (1971, Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art), etc. He died in 1977. Since then, he continued to exhibit his works in “Kyuzaburo Ito: Transparent Lyricism and Illusion” (1995, O Museum of Art), “Tsuguharu Fujita to Nika/Kyumokai Painters” (2006, The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto), “40 Years after Hisasaburo Ito: Illusion and Poetry” (2017, Yokosuka Museum of Art), “Kyuzaburo Ito Exhibition” (2020, The Museum of Kyoto).
Since the opening of the gallery in 2010, when we held a group show that included the late artist Masayoshi Nakamura, we have continued to plan exhibitions focusing on young artists.
In recent years, however, young artists have been diversifying their presentation venues and sales channels, and the number of galleries introducing young artists has been increasing, while spaces and services operated by various companies, as well as alternative and artist-run spaces, are actively functioning and expanding their roles.
In this trend, the role required of small-scale galleries is changing, and we would like to continue our efforts to introduce deceased artists of modern Japan, whose opportunities are dwindling, and to consider their connection to the present and how they should be in the present.
As a first step, we would like to introduce Kyuzaburo Ito.
He was one of the painters active at the dawn of modern Japanese avant-garde painting.
This exhibition will feature 10 oil paintings from the 1960s and 1970s, including one from his early period in 1930.
