Bambinart Gallery is pleased to present "Station to Station", a solo exhibition by Johnny Miller.

"In Franco De Masi’s concept of the unconscious he puts forward the idea that, as a part of our unconscious mind there is an emotional reservoir that never reaches the consciousness. This part of the mind underpins conscious thinking. De Masi says that it allows for an intuitive quality of thought, where ideas and experiences connect and relate. Without unconscious emotional underpinning he says that life’s poetry fades away and thinking becomes fragmented and disconnected. My friend Giles said that De Masi’s idea made him think about picture making as a way to maintain a link with the unconscious emotional reservoir. I think I use the commuting time between stations to enter into this state of intuitive picture making which forms the base of all my pictures lately." - Johnny Miller

Johnny Miller was born in 1962, New Castle, UK. He graduated at the Master of Printmaking, Royal College of Art, London, UK. He now lives and works in Osaka, Japan.
